The Sunflower Soul Project is a trauma-informed care initiative that uses art as a means of promoting healing, self-expression and well-being. Its mission is to provide a safe and supportive space where individuals can explore their inner selves through creative expression. By combining art, storytelling, and community building, the Sunflower Soul Project strives to enhance mental, emotional, and spiritual healing, while also aiding individuals in cultivating a deeper sense of self-awareness. It is a resource for individuals to connect with one another, explore creativity, share stories, and engage in a therapeutic process that honors unique experiences while supporting one another on their healing journey. We aim to create a positive impact on the lives of those who connect with their art, uplift and empower individuals to overcome adversity while building resilience.

Promoting Healing. Igniting Expression. Cultivating Resilience.

Your Safe Place – A Family Justice Center (YSP) recently hosted an art workshop for survivors in collaboration with the Sunflower Soul Project, and the impact was transformative. YSP has always been dedicated to fostering healing and growth through the power of peer support and art as a therapeutic modality. During the workshop, it was witnessed firsthand how survivors connected, shared their stories, and drew strength from one another. The creative process provided a vital outlet for expressing emotions and experiences that words often fail to capture.

The workshop facilitated healing and helped participants thrive, fostering a renewed sense of purpose and resilience. YSP is committed to extending these life-changing opportunities to more survivors, ensuring that they too can find hope and empowerment through the Sunflower Soul Project.” - Your Safe Place San Diego
